There is no one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to choosing the right abaya size. The best way to find the perfect fit is to take your measurements and then compare them to the size chart of the abaya you’re interested in. If you’re between sizes, it’s usually better to go with the larger size so that you have more room to move and breathe.

Length

The first thing to consider when choosing an abaya is your height. Whether you’re tall or short, abayas should reach the full length of your body and shouldn’t be any shorter than a few centimeters below your ankle. When trying on an abaya, test to see what it will look like with and without heels (tiptoe if you can’t test with heels).

Fit

You definitely want to look for an abaya that compliments your body and enhances your features. That’s not to say that your abaya should have a tight body fit, but should fit well enough so that you can comfortably wear your own clothes underneath. If you have more of a pear-shaped figure, choose an abaya that is wide at the bottom and tighter on the sleeves. For a slimmer or skinny figure, opt for an abaya that has more layers to accentuate your figure.

Sleeve length

No one likes sleeves that are too short or too long, especially when they weren’t designed to fit that way. When choosing the right abaya, make sure the sleeves are at wrist length unless the design states otherwise.

How to measure your abaya size?

There are a few ways to measure your abaya size. The most common way is to measure from the shoulder down to the desired length. Another way is to measure from the shoulder down to the floor, and then add 2-3 inches for the desired length. You can also measure around the chest, under the arms, and over the fullest part of the bust for the chest measurement. For the waist measurement, measure around the natural waistline, keeping the tape parallel to the floor. And for the hip measurement, measure around the fullest part of the hips, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

What size abaya should I buy?

When purchasing an abaya, it is important to choose the right size. If the abaya is too small, it will be uncomfortable to wear and may not provide the coverage you desire. If the abaya is too large, it may be difficult to move around in and may not look as flattering. To determine what size abaya to purchase, you will need to take your measurements. Once you have your measurements, you can consult a size chart to determine what size abaya you should purchase.

Conclusion

There is no standard size for abayas, so it is important to know your own measurements before you start shopping. Most abayas available on Hijab Company are in sizes 52, 54, 56, 58 & 60. If you are between sizes, it is better to go up a size so that you have more room to move and breathe.
